Landgrafen, at Landgrafenstieg 25 in Jena, is a Mediterranean and seasonal kitchen that the Michelin Guide lists as Recommended for 2026. The glass-walled restaurant sits on the edge of the city, above the Saale valley.

Cooking by its own rules

The kitchen publishes its principles. It buys only food that can spoil, avoids products labelled "light" or "low fat," and treats traditional ingredients with respect rather than suspicion. The list closes with a note that the team sometimes breaks its own rules. Seasonal produce and Mediterranean technique are the core of the cooking.

Rooms with a view

The Panoramarestaurant seats 80 under a modern glass cube set against old stone walls. The Kaminzimmer, a fireplace room for up to 40 guests, opens onto a turret terrace. The sun terrace above the city has room for over 70 and a small stage, and it looks across Jena to the Leuchtenburg. Schlemmer Atlas awarded the restaurant 2 Kochlöffel for 2026.
