The story
Gasthaus Letzter Heller serves Brunch and traditional German dishes at Letzter Heller 5 + 7, 34346 in Hannoversch Münden, on the edge of the Werra. The Schlemmer Atlas gave the house 1 Kochlöffel in 2026 for its small selection of hearty, home-style cooking.
Tom Lange runs the kitchen and describes his aim plainly: to bring guests the good things in life. The menu relies mostly on regional ingredients, used fresh, in a refined but traditional style. The wine list leans toward German growers, with bottles from Spain and Italy alongside.
Tafelspitz and schnitzel anchor the home-style menu. Sunday lunch centres on a roast, and Friday evenings are devoted to grilled duck. Saturdays bring a Chef's Table, a format that suits guests who want to see the kitchen's range in one sitting.
The festive hall seats up to 100 guests and suits weddings, birthdays and family gatherings. The house has been family-run for more than 30 years, set beside the Werra and close to Hannoversch Münden's historic old town.
