The story
Inspektorenhaus at Altstädtischer Markt 9 in Brandenburg an der Havel serves seasonal German cooking with international influences. The Michelin Guide listed it as Recommended in 2026.
There is no à la carte at the moment. Guests choose between a meat menu and a fish menu, both four courses at 79 euros. The meat route includes sous vide Tafelspitz with capers and yellow fin, then tenderloin of Jacks Creek beef with wild broccoli and celery. The fish menu brings cured Label Rouge salmon with saffron rouille and poached char fillet with mussel and a kale dumpling. Vegetarian and allergy-friendly alternatives are kept ready.
Owner Benjamin Döbbel cooks together with friends and family. Meat comes from regional butchers and produce from organic farms. Everything from the ice cream to the pickled gherkins is made in-house, and the ice cream workshop is a point of pride. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
The restaurant occupies a historic half-timbered building. Inside, the look is clean and Scandinavian-inspired, but still cozy. A courtyard garden and terrace host summer grill evenings on set dates. Wine pairings come from the sommelier service of Basta, a wine shop in Magdeburg.
