The story
Mondieu, at Ten Bogaerdelaan 10 in Koksijde, is a French kitchen with Belgian cuisine on the menu, and it earned a 14.5 from Gault&Millau for 2026 along with a 2026 Michelin Recommended listing.
The menu changes with the seasons and comes as a choice of two or three courses. Each course offers a choice between fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. Mediterranean and Oriental influences appear here and there within the French base. From Wednesday to Friday, a lunch formula runs with a starter, a main course and coffee or tea.
The Sint-Idesbald brewery on site makes an abbey beer, which comes with a selection of tapas. The house croquettes, made with North Sea shrimp or aged Parmesan, are the snack to order. Gault&Millau describes the building as a former 17th-century monastery with a clear, pure interior.
