The story
The Dabney is a contemporary American restaurant at 122 Blagden Alley NW in Washington, DC, and it holds a Michelin 1 Star (2026) for high quality cooking. The kitchen builds its menu around the mid-Atlantic region and its farms and waters.
The centerpiece of the open kitchen is a wood-burning hearth. The cooks use embers for their depth of flavor, and the hearth also nods to the area's historic food culture. Owner and chef Jeremiah Langhorne leads the kitchen with chef de cuisine Timothy Buell.
The kitchen works directly with farmers, purveyors and watermen across the Mid-Atlantic, and it names the people who grow and catch its produce and proteins. Guests can choose the five-course prix fixe or the à la carte menu, which is also served at the bar, bar-area tables and the garden patio. Diners with severe allium or dairy allergies, or those on a vegan diet, should know the kitchen cannot accommodate them at this time.
