The story
Quince, at 470 Pacific Avenue in San Francisco, holds three Michelin stars (2026) for its contemporary California cooking with an Italian streak.
Founded in 2003, Quince occupies a 1907 brick building in Jackson Square, with the kitchen in view of the dining room. Michael Tusk, the 2011 James Beard winner for Best Chef: Pacific, composes the nightly Gastronomy Menu, served only in the main dining room. Forbes Travel Guide rates the restaurant Four-Star (2026) and singles out his handmade pastas.
The salon-like Bolinas Bar serves the four-course California Coast & Valleys menu, a tribute to the restaurant's farm and the state's terroir. Cocktails and wine are poured alongside. A four-course lunch runs on Fridays and Saturdays.
