The story
Acquerello holds two Michelin stars for 2026, and it cooks contemporary Italian food at 1722 Sacramento Street in San Francisco. The dining room is formal, and the menus change with the season.
Suzette Gresham is chef and owner, and Gonzalo Agliozzo runs the kitchen as chef de cuisine. The seasonal tasting menu combines classic Italian flavors with modern techniques. Theron Marrs leads the pastry program.
Recent menus have featured Hokkaido scallop with rhubarb and green strawberry, and a signature Acquerello risotto with watercress, artichoke and Meyer lemon. Ridged pasta arrives with a faux "foie gras," black truffle and Marsala. The seasonal tasting menu is listed at $275 per person, with a $185 wine pairing. The restaurant notes that its menus are samples and may change.
