The story
Georgian Room, in Saint Simons Island, serves American grill classics and a Japanese sushi menu at 100 Cloister Drive, Sea Island, Georgia 31561. Forbes Travel Guide awarded the restaurant Four-Star in 2026, and both rooms share one address at The Cloister.
The Main Dining Room runs a refined grill built on a farm-to-table approach. Beef comes from Strauss Farms, a grass-fed producer in Georgia, and from USDA wet- and dry-aged cuts sourced from Linz in Chicago. The menu also covers a raw bar, caviar service and a short list of prime cuts. Seared foie gras arrives over Vidalia onion pain perdu, and short ribs are glazed with heirloom cherry tomato barbecue sauce.
The Lounge is the more relaxed room, and guests can often walk in without a reservation. Sushi and sashimi are prepared at the bar, alongside maki, nigiri, soups, dumplings, Chilean sea bass and Japanese A5 Wagyu. The bar pours sake, shochu and Japanese whisky, and the cocktail list follows a classic Ginza style.
Vintage spirits anchor the drinks program in the main room. Wine Spectator honored the restaurant with its Best of Award of Excellence in 2024. The glass-enclosed Orangery offers a lighter space with the same menu as the Main Dining Room, so you can order the full steakhouse selection in a brighter setting.
