The story
Allora, at 5215 Folsom Blvd. in Sacramento, is a modern Italian restaurant that earned a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026 and a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2020. The kitchen cooks a seasonal dinner menu, and the wine program leans heavily on Italy.
Executive Chef and partner Deneb Williams leads the kitchen, which he came to after years as head chef at the Firehouse Restaurant in Old Town Sacramento. Mattia Melchionna serves as Chef de Cuisine, and Lee Hinton is Executive Sous Chef. The menus change with the season and come as a three, four or five course prix fixe dinner priced at $99, $129 or $159 per person, with a seasonal amuse-bouche and intermezzo included.
Beverage Director Elizabeth-Rose Mandalou, a Certified Sommelier, opened Allora in early 2018 with a focus on Italian wines and spirits. She later became an Italian Wine Scholar in 2021. The beverage menu covers wines, craft cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, and Brett Walker runs the bar.
Executive Pastry Chef Chrissy Sievert builds the dessert program around seasonal ingredients, aiming for a clean finish to the meal. Guests can dine indoors or on the garden patio, and the restaurant offers a private room and wheelchair access.
