The story
Jean-Georges Philadelphia sits on the 59th floor of the Comcast Technology Center at 1 North 19th Street, where the French kitchen of Jean-Georges Vongerichten meets Asian flavors and skyline views. The restaurant holds a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating (2026), and its tasting menus and à la carte dining draw on both the New York original and dishes written for Philadelphia.
Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the chef proprietor, presents an elevated six-course tasting menu alongside à la carte dining. Chef de Cuisine Colin Henderson curates the menu. Seasonal ingredients from the Philadelphia region are prepared with classic French techniques, with global influences in the mix. Menus change often with the season.
The kitchen serves scallop carpaccio with pickled rhubarb and shiso, char grilled squab with sweet peas and nasturtium vinaigrette, and sea trout with fava beans and preserved lemon. Caviar and yellowfin tuna noodles appear near the start of the tasting menu. A separate six-course vegetarian menu uses vegetables such as roasted broccoli and white asparagus. Pastry chef Danielle Seipp's chocolate passionfruit mousse and coconut semifreddo close the meal, and guests who save room may receive a platter of petit fours.
Architect Norman Foster and artistic director Jeff Leatham designed the dining room to bring the outside in. Forty-foot floor-to-ceiling windows frame the skyline, and mirrors on the ceiling catch the sunset and city lights after dark. Diners who arrive early or stay late can continue upstairs to SkyHigh, the 60th-floor lounge that overlooks the restaurant.
The Wine Spectator named the wine list a Best of Award of Excellence (2025). Guests can add a wine pairing to the tasting menu or choose the sommelier's selection of wines.
