The story
Vintage Restaurant serves American cooking at 14079 Plantation Way in Orange, Virginia, and holds a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star rating for 2026.
The kitchen works with seasonal, regional ingredients, and meals come with whipped butter and a dot of local honey. Forbes recalls a morning visit that began with a basket of fresh-from-the-oven pastries. On Gourmet Tapas Wednesdays, smaller plates include pumpkin-seed-crusted fried oysters with remoulade and pan-seared halibut with a warm tomato, basil and cured olive compote.
White columns and boxwood gardens give the inn the look of a historic plantation, while the menu stays contemporary. Renovations to the centuries-old building created a half-dozen dining areas, so couples and larger groups, wedding parties included, each get a suitable space. Wine Spectator gave the restaurant its Award of Excellence in 2013.
