The story
Daniel, at 60 East 65th Street in New York City, is a French restaurant that earned one Michelin star in 2026. Chef Daniel Boulud opened the flagship in 1993 in the former Mayfair Hotel on Park Avenue, the original site of Le Cirque.
Executive Chef Eddy Leroux leads the French kitchen, which draws on meats, wild game, seafood and seasonal produce. Forbes Travel Guide awarded the restaurant Five-Star status for 2026, citing sophisticated French dishes with an American twist. The menus change every few months to follow New York's seasons.
The seven-course tasting menu has included Scharbauer Ranch beef pressé with foie gras and summer vegetables, Maine lobster in two preparations, and Nova Scotia halibut with spring peas. For dessert, guests can choose a Vacherin Exotique with coconut ice cream and passion fruit sherbet, or a chocolate bee pollen ganache. A separate vegetarian tasting menu features dishes such as grilled green asparagus and Arizona cauliflower.
