The story
Soda Club serves Italian-American cooking at 95 Avenue A in New York City, and the Michelin Guide gave it a 2026 Bib Gourmand for good quality, good value cooking. The restaurant is listed on its website as Avant Garden, on the second floor of the building, and the whole menu is vegan.
Executive chef Juan Pajarito runs the kitchen, which has focused on vegetables since the restaurant opened in 2015 under owner Ravi DeRossi. The Smart Green Guide awarded the restaurant 3 Radishes in 2026. Drew Brady directs the wine program.
The mushroom menu draws on Third Kingdom, the sister restaurant that closed, and some of its dishes now appear at Avant Garden through the Understory residency. Beech arrives with cauliflower cream, nori butter and herbed breadcrumbs, while the king royal trumpet raviolo comes with a green sauce, ricotta and seasonal herbs. The celery root pasta is finished with shaved black truffle and shiitake velour. For dessert, the blueberry sponge cake pairs tofu and cashew mascarpone with caramel.
The cocktail list credits several bartenders, and the wine list, curated by Drew Brady, leans toward natural bottles from France, Italy, Greece and Sicily. Alcohol-free options include the Sober Curious, a blend of blackberry, ginger, lemon and agave, served hot or cold.
