The story
Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak occupies a restored historic building at 215 Bourbon St. in New Orleans, serving Creole and French dishes alongside USDA prime steaks. The restaurant holds a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, placing it among the city's notable Creole dining rooms.
USDA prime beef anchors the menu, with cuts from a 7 oz. filet to a 30 oz. t-bone. Lobster thermidor and duck l'orange rank among the house specialties, alongside whole fish preparations. Sides arrive family style, including au gratins of crab, cauliflower, broccoli or peas and mushrooms. Nicole Theriot, Director of Culinary Operations, oversees the kitchen at 33 along with the Galatoire's dining room and Galerie de Galatoire.
The custom-built arched bar pours classic cocktails, including the Sazerac, Old Fashioned and Brandy Milk Punch. Large glass windows at the entrance look out onto the galleries of Bourbon Street, so guests can watch the street from their seat. Lighter bar plates include a Louisiana jumbo lump crab cake and the "33" burger.
Crystal chandeliers and finely finished surfaces define the dining room. The wine cellar holds more than 900 selections and 8,500 bottles, with a focus on Burgundy, Bordeaux and Champagne. Wine Spectator has honored the 33 wine list with its Best of Award of Excellence every year since 2014.
