The story
Emeril's serves Creole and Cajun cooking at 800 Tchoupitoulas St. in New Orleans, and the kitchen holds two Michelin stars (2026). The restaurant opened in 1990 in a former warehouse in the Warehouse District, and it remains the Lagasse family's flagship.
Chef E.J. Lagasse, son of founder Emeril Lagasse, runs the kitchen as chef and co-owner. The tasting menu changes with the seasons and reworks classics from the restaurant's history. The team sources from Louisiana farmers, fishermen and purveyors. Recent courses have included boudin with collard greens and hamhock, and a banana cream pie with caramel.
The Wine Bar at Emeril's has its own entrance on Julia Street and gives guests access to the restaurant's wine cellar. The bar serves small plates such as smoked fish dip, Little Gem Caesar salad and foie gras torchon. Cocktails include a Sazerac and a Reserve Old Fashioned.
