The story
Clancy's sits at 6100 Annunciation Street in New Orleans, where its Creole and Cajun kitchen has been a fixture on the uptown river corner. The Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for 2026, and the French-leaning Creole table has long drawn locals and visitors alike.
Chef and proprietor Brian Larson cooks alongside Brad and Sue Hollingsworth and Mary Larson, who run the restaurant as a family business. Under Brad Hollingsworth, who bought Clancy's in 1987, the kitchen became known for classic Creole cuisine. The menu is built on that tradition.
The building has housed a restaurant or bar since the early 1900s. Clancy's began in the late 1940s as a neighborhood bar and poor boy spot. In 1983 new owners turned it into a white tablecloth dining room, one of the first Creole bistros in the city. Its wine cellar is considered one of the finest in New Orleans, and Wine Spectator honored it with a Best of Award of Excellence in 2004.
