The story

La Toque Napa: Contemporary French Tasting Menus in Napa, California

La Toque, at 1314 McKinstry St. in Napa, California, is a contemporary French restaurant that earned the Wine Spectator Grand Award in 2014. Its kitchen works from seasonal produce, and the menus change with the harvest.

Chef Ken Frank and the seasonal kitchen

Ken Frank founded La Toque in 1979 and still leads the kitchen as chef and owner. His signature egg course is cooked at 63 degrees Celsius, so the white and yolk set soft, then finish with potato gribiche and Ossetra caviar.

Tasting menus and the dining room

Diners can choose a six-course Chef's Tasting, a vegetarian version, or the à la carte menu. Michelin's 2026 guide lists La Toque as Recommended. Groups of 9 to 240 can book the restaurant, and pastry chef Amanda Owens leads dessert.
