The story
Gwen, at 6600 Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles, is an American steakhouse that earned one Michelin star in 2026 for high quality cooking. Chef Curtis Stone opened it with his brother Luke Stone, and it operates as both a restaurant and an old-world, European-style butcher shop.
The kitchen builds its à la carte menu around fire-based techniques. A pre-theatre menu suits guests heading to the Hollywood venues nearby. Reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are welcome.
The butcher shop supplies the dining room directly, and its chef-minded butchers work with whole animals. The team sources from ranchers and purveyors, including California meat and Blackmore wagyu from Australia, all hormone-free and ethically raised. An in-house charcuterie program makes terrines, pâtés, confits, salamis, and whole cured muscles like coppa and culatelo.
The wine list is built for pairing with the menu. Wine Spectator honored the restaurant with its Best of Award of Excellence in 2018. The room also hosts private parties and private dining.
