The story
Botanica, at 1620 Silver Lake Blvd. in Los Angeles, is a seasonal Southern California kitchen that holds 2 Radishes in the Smart Green Guide (2026). The restaurant pairs a farmers market-driven menu with a market and bottle shop at the front of the space.
The restaurant opened in May 2017 with a menu built on regenerative agriculture, sustainable seafood and responsibly raised animals. Co-founder Emily Fiffer trained in London at Nopi and Moro before bringing vegetable-centric cooking to Los Angeles. Co-founder Heather Sperling's Lebanese heritage also shapes the food.
The natural wine program is led by beverage director Pierluc Dallaire and centers on low-intervention bottles from independent winemakers, with an emphasis on women winemakers. Guests can buy the same bottles at the market near the entrance or drink them in the dining room. The room is bright and breezy, and the menu is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
