The story
Antico Nuovo, at 4653 Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles, is an Italian restaurant listed as Michelin Recommended for 2026. The restaurant describes its cooking as drawing on the Italian countryside and preserving older techniques in both food and wine. The kitchen works from a seasonal menu, so dishes and prices shift over the year.
The meal opens with focaccia under olive oil and sea salt, then moves to pasta such as tortelli with lemon, ricotta and marjoram, and tagliolini with jumbo blue crab and squash blossoms. Mains include fire-roasted squab, golden lamb chops with parmigiano, and la bistecca "tomahawk," a 1kg dry-aged black Angus ribeye with marsala jus. Prices on the current menu are listed at 12 for the focaccia and 205 for the ribeye.
Antico Nuovo received a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2023, and the restaurant pours wine, sake and beer only. Corkage is 50 per bottle for the first two 750ml bottles and 75 per bottle after that. Desserts include a cannoli with pistachio and chocolate, a torta siciliana with almond, strawberry and ricotta, and ice cream flavors such as honeycomb and espresso nib.
