The story
Selanne Steak Tavern, at 1464 S. Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, is a contemporary American steakhouse listed as Michelin Recommended in 2026.
The restaurant occupies a historic 1934 home on Pacific Coast Highway. Hockey Hall of Famer and six-time Olympian Teemu Selanne runs it with local businessman Kevin Pratt, aiming for a classic American tavern where friends and families feel at ease. Guests can sit in the Loft, the Veranda, the Wine Library or the Sunset Terrace.
The kitchen cooks steaks and chops, poultry, game and seafood, with artisan cocktails and beers at the bar. The wine list earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2017. The b8kery, led by Michelin-trained pastry chef Camille Loecsey, makes cakes, cookies and cupcakes.
