The story
Nine-Ten, at 910 Prospect St. in La Jolla, serves a seasonal Californian menu built on the local harvest, and it holds a Michelin Recommended listing for 2026. Menus rotate often, so the dishes change with what the kitchen sources that week.
Executive chef Jason Knibb leads a kitchen that visits local artisan providers most days, including Chino Farms. Fish arrives daily from Hawaii and from the North Pacific and Atlantic, so the seafood list shifts with the catch. The wine list also carries a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence, from 2021.
Recent dinners have included grilled prime ribeye with roasted Japanese eggplant and caramelized onion and ricotta agnolotti with morel mushroom. Lunch has featured Jamaican jerk pork belly and a Reuben made with house-made pastrami. Check the current menu before you go, since the offerings change with the season.
