The story
Capa is a Spanish steakhouse in Doctor Phillips, Florida, at 10100 Dream Tree Blvd., Lake Buena Vista, FL 32836, and it holds one Michelin star (2026). The kitchen pairs Basque and Spanish cooking with Florida seafood and prime beef, served on a rooftop floor high above the resort.
The kitchen is open, and the wood-burning grill sits where diners can watch it work. Executive chef Fabrizio Schenardi oversees the menu, which runs from raw bar plates to grilled cuts. Prime beef comes from Creekstone, including a 32 oz porterhouse and a 14 oz NY strip. A5 Miyazaki wagyu is sold by the ounce, and an Australian tomahawk steak is also on the grill menu.
Tapas arrive in a sequence rather than all at once. Ostras come with cocktail sauce and mignonette, and the tartar de atún is finished with preserved lemon and quail egg. Patatas bravas, pulpo with mojo verde, and roasted bone marrow with chistorra gratin are among the small plates. For larger plates, the Chilean sea bass zarzuela includes blue crab and Sapelo Island clams.
The dining room is dark, and a large red ceiling installation by Dutch artist Peter Genetenaar draws the eye upward. The outdoor patio overlooks the nightly fireworks, so the meal naturally pauses for a view. A Spanish guitarist plays from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The wine list features more than 50 Spanish selections, and the bar serves 12 signature cocktails, including the Agua de Valencia and Robujito in shareable porrons.
