The story
Guard and Grace at 1801 California St. in Denver is a contemporary American steakhouse that earned a Michelin Recommended listing for 2026. Chef and owner Troy Guard built the menu around steakhouse classics and seafood that reflects his Hawaiian roots.
Guard named the restaurant after his daughter. The menu includes prime, dry-aged and local Wagyu beef alongside seafood. Seasonal menus, daily specials and omakase-style offerings rotate through the year, with wood-fired dishes on the menu.
The Denver dining room covers 9,000 square feet and includes one of downtown's largest patios. The wine list earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2024, and the restaurant hosts winemaker dinners throughout the year.
