The story
Beckon, at 2843 Larimer St. in Denver, is a contemporary American restaurant that earned a Michelin star in 2026. It is a chef's counter where guests eat one seasonal tasting menu, and it has operated in the RiNo neighborhood since 2018.
Executive Chef Duncan Holmes leads the kitchen, and he is a James Beard Award semifinalist. The tasting menu is multi-course and changes quarterly with Colorado's seasons. Ingredients are picked at their peak and treated with care, so the cooking lets balance, texture and natural flavor carry each dish.
Beckon seats 18 in a converted bungalow. Every guest faces the open kitchen, so cooking, plating and service happen in plain view. Allison Holmes shapes the guest experience alongside the kitchen, and the restaurant treats hospitality and food as one composed experience.
The beverage list covers sparkling and still wines, a rotating by-the-glass selection, signature and dessert cocktails, sake, Scotch, and a zero-proof program. Its dessert cocktail "My Battery Is Low And It's Getting Dark" combines golden sesame bourbon, Okinawa brown sugar and hot water, finished with whipped cream. The wine program has also received a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence (2024).
