The story
Osteria Langhe sits at 2824 West Armitage Avenue in Chicago, where the Italian kitchen cooks food from Italy's northwest Piemonte region and holds a Michelin Recommended listing for 2026. The neighborhood restaurant opened in May 2014 and focuses on one part of Italy rather than the whole country.
The menu leans on locally sourced meats and produce. Carne cruda is made with Piedmontese beef, cured egg yolk and a rosemary cracker, and the house plin are pinched agnolotti filled with la tur cheese and finished with butter and thyme. Prosciutto-wrapped rabbit loin comes with pork belly, mushrooms and creamy polenta, while the kitchen also makes its own fettuccine for a northern meat ragu.
The dining room seats 68 and has a large paneled glass facade, rustic wood tables and Italian art. Guests can also sit at the bar or on the seasonal patio. Wine Director and owner Aldo Zaninotto curates a list drawn only from Piemonte, and the restaurant received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2016. Beverage manager Ken Sirovatka oversees the cocktails and aperitivo selection.
