The story
Jeffrey's, at 1204 W. Lynn St. in Austin, Texas, is a steakhouse and American kitchen in the Clarksville neighborhood, recognized with a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2025 and a Michelin Recommended listing in 2026.
Executive Chef Mark McCain leads the kitchen. The menu centers on wood-fired, dry-aged steaks, with French-American classics and signature seasonal specialties alongside them. The restaurant opened in 1975 as a simple café and was re-imagined and renovated in 2013 by MML Hospitality.
The restaurant has several dining rooms, including a bar and lounge, private dining rooms, and a wine cellar. The Napoleon Room sits inside the cellar, while The Apartment is a residential-style space above the main dining room. The restaurant is also available for full buyouts.
The wine list is one of the deepest in the state, and the 2025 Wine Spectator award reflects that depth. The lounge runs a Monday happy hour, all night, with 25% off bar food and wines by the glass. On Sundays, bottles of wine are 50% off, also all night.
