The story
The Bell in Ticehurst, on High Street in Ticehurst, TN5 7AS, is a British kitchen that holds the AA 2 Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence (2026). The building dates to around 1560 and still works as a village pub with inn rooms.
The menu changes with the seasons and with what local growers can supply. Starters include watermelon carpaccio with marinated feta and cured ham, and tuna tartare with avocado emulsion and radish. Mains range from a marinated pork chop chargrilled on The Big Green Egg to beer battered haddock with chunky chips.
Seven bedrooms and four lodges sit in the garden, each furnished differently. Big Sunday lunches are served on the long table in the Stable, and the Big Room hosts creative courses.
