The story
Paris House, a modern British restaurant at Woburn Park, Woburn, MK17 9QP, sits in the deer park of the Woburn Estate near Milton Keynes. The Good Food Guide rated it Very Good for 2026.
Phil Fanning has led the kitchen since 2010. The restaurant works mainly through seasonal tasting menus, with a six-course Signature Tasting Menu, a four-course menu and an afternoon tea. Its house gin, made with shiso, yuzu and sancho, carries the same Asian-leaning streak found in the kitchen. The restaurant also holds three AA Rosettes for 2026.
A reviewer for The Good Food Guide singled out blue-cheese beignets as an opener on the four-course lunch. A salmon and crab rillette arrived in apple jelly with purple violas, and confit carrot came in a chilli-hot Thai broth with lemongrass and lime. The finale was blood-orange segments over gin-tinged marmalade, topped with passion-fruit compôte, a biscuit crumb and white chocolate stalks with gold-leaf buds.
The dining room is light and modern, with turquoise chairs, walnut-topped tables and lead-lined windows facing the grounds. The building was first seen at the 1878 Paris Exhibition and rebuilt on the estate by the 9th Duke of Bedford. In summer, guests can combine a meal with a horse-drawn carriage tour of the estate.
