The story
Tom Brown at The Capital is a modern British restaurant at 22-24 Basil Street, Knightsbridge, London, awarded One Michelin Star in February 2026. The room is the flagship of chef Tom Brown and sits inside The Capital Hotel, with a seafood-led menu that the AA has also recognised with two Rosettes.
Originally from Cornwall, Tom Brown worked with Nathan Outlaw before becoming Head Chef of Outlaw's at The Capital Hotel. He later opened his own Hackney Wick restaurant, Cornerstone, in 2018, which closed in June 2024. This restaurant marks his return to the hotel, and his cooking stays clean and creative, built on carefully sourced produce.
The dining room seats 28 and offers seafood, fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. The hotel is a five-star boutique property on Basil Street, and the restaurant is a short walk from Harrods and Hyde Park. Guests can expect a calm, polished setting that suits both a special dinner and a long lunch.
