The story
Josephine Bouchon is a Lyonnaise-leaning French bistro at 315 Fulham Road in Chelsea, London, and it holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026. Claude and Lucy Bosi run it as a neighbourhood corner restaurant, with a simple menu that travels through France and lingers longest in Claude's home town of Lyon.
The Good Food Guide, which rates the restaurant Very Good for 2026, describes a menu of bistro classics and regional Lyonnaise specialities. Soupe à l'oignon gets particular praise, and the guide also mentions terrine, filet de boeuf au poivre, lapin à la moutarde and gratin dauphinois. Leeks vinaigrette, skate wing in brown butter and caper sauce, and a vol-au-vent of chicken and morel sauce show the restraint of the French kitchen here: few flavours per plate, each clear.
Sweet dishes stay Gallic, with oeuf à la neige, praline rose and tarte au citron meringue. A daily plat du jour and a short set menu at lunch and dinner keep the price side approachable. The AA has also awarded two Rosettes for 2026.
House wines come bouchon-style, so you pay only for what you drink. The full list focuses on the Rhône Valley, and Chelsea also keeps an extensive Chartreuse selection. The dining room is often full and noisy, with Lucy Bosi overseeing front of house. Outdoor seating is available, and the restaurant takes private parties.
