The story
Charlie's sits at 33 Albemarle Street in Mayfair, London, inside Brown's Hotel. The modern British restaurant holds two AA Rosettes for 2026, and the room takes its name from Lord Charles Forte, the hotel's patriarch. The cooking is classic British with a modern twist.
The menu is by Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt, whose grandfather also worked at the hotel. Local ingredients, many hand-sourced by the kitchen, drive the seasonal dishes. Crisp Cornish crab salad and sage-roasted summer squash show the approach, with nods to Italian, Spanish and French cooking. Michelin lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
Venison en croute and roast beef remain on the menu, and the beef is carved tableside from a gilded trolley. The dining room is warm, with velvet banquettes set so that every seat feels like the top table. The team describes the restaurant as a little theatre and a little humour.
