The story
Bombay Bustle is an Indian restaurant at 29 Maddox Street in Mayfair, London, just off Regent Street. The Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended (2026), and its menu draws on Mumbai street food and family recipes, from small plates to tandoor-fired mains.
The Good Food Guide singles out pao buns stuffed with lamb keema, peppery spiced scrambled eggs with truffle oil and naan, and crispy new potatoes with Tulsi chilli chutney. Heavier dishes come from the tandoor, the biryani pot and the curry list, including Goan-style stone bass tikka with chilli paste and a Malabar lamb. Dhals and vegetable sides are built to share.
The January Winter Specials bring Sprouts Sundal with mustard seeds, curry leaves and coconut, Dhokla Chaat with fresh mint and tamarind, and a Chamber's Tomato Soup slow-cooked with garlic and black pepper. For Valentine's, The Bombay Duo paired a Rose Rum Old Fashioned, warmed with jaggery and cinnamon smoke, with a cardamom Raspberry Cheesecake. Both menus change with the season, so check the current listings before you go.
The dining room takes its Art Deco look from the first-class railway carriages of Mumbai, and the atmosphere is lively. The bar leans toward east-west cocktails, including a signature gin and tonic made with Nagpur orange bitter and gin distilled in a 100-year-old copper pot. Indian beer and a global wine list cover the rest of the drinks menu, and a Sunday brunch bundle is a local favourite.
