The story
Allt Yr Afon is a modern European restaurant at Wolfscastle Country Hotel, Wolf's Castle, SA62 5LZ, in Haverfordwest. It holds three AA rosettes (2026), and its kitchen is built around a six-course tasting menu.
Head chef Seb Smith joined from Oakley Hall Hotel in Basingstoke. He trained at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire and Great Fosters in Surrey before taking over the kitchen. His cooking pairs bold flavours with clean presentation, blending modern and classic techniques. The restaurant is also listed in the Michelin Guide as Recommended (2026).
The six-course menu runs Wednesday to Saturday evenings at £75 per head, for tables of up to six. Seb's approach starts with one central ingredient, with the other components lifting it on the plate. Tables should be booked at least 24 hours ahead.
Only six tables fill the dining room. The refurbishment kept its timeless character, with high ceilings, copper fittings and candlelit tables. The wine list is arranged by vintage and region.
