The story
Queen of Cups, at 10-12 Northload Street in Glastonbury, is a Middle Eastern restaurant in a 17th century coaching inn. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand (2026) for good quality, good value cooking.
Executive Chef and founder Ayesha Kalaji draws on her Jordanian roots, with time in Wales and London before she settled in Glastonbury. Her menus change with the seasons. Meat comes from the butcher next door, fruit and vegetables from farms within five miles, and seafood from Brixham day boats. Open fire cooking and classic French technique sit alongside the Middle Eastern base.
The food is served as sharing plates, with dessert and drinks listed separately. Most wines come from small producers, many working organically, and the bar regularly features Somerset spirit makers. The name refers to the Queen of Cups in Tarot, a nod to Glastonbury's mystical history. The AA awarded the restaurant two Rosettes for culinary excellence (2026).
