The story
The Fanny Talbot is a modern British restaurant in Barmouth, at 2 Lion Court, High Street, and holds three AA Rosettes for culinary excellence (2026). The name honours Fanny Talbot (1824–1917), the Barmouth landowner who gave Dinas Oleu to the National Trust in 1895.
The kitchen calls its style modern Welsh, with traditional Welsh foods and methods at the centre of the work. The cooking has been Michelin-recognised and draws on Talbot's legacy of protecting Wales's natural heritage.
Recent menu listings include heritage beetroot with blood orange, sheep's ricotta and pumpkin seed, alongside loin of Welsh hogget and roasted chicken breast. Vegetarian and pescatarian tasting menus are offered, and guests are asked to share dietary needs when booking.
