The story
Kildrummy Inn, at Kildrummy, AB33 8QS near Alford, is a Modern British restaurant that earned 2 AA Rosettes in 2026 for culinary excellence.
David Littlewood started his career in Aberdeen in 2001 and has since won Grampian Chef of the Year. He focuses on flavour and careful execution, cooking with high quality local ingredients. The restaurant also holds a Michelin Recommended listing for 2026.
Alexandria Hay has worked in the kitchen since 2014 and was the first female winner of the Pastry Chef of the Year competition. She buys fresh, seasonal produce from local suppliers, so the menu often changes every few days, sometimes daily. Printed menus include a Sunday lunch, a dinner menu and a tasting menu.
The restaurant occupies the old Volunteers' Drill Hall, dating to 1866, which was restored in 2023. Guests can also use the terrace, the lounge, the private dining room and the Whisky Snug.
