The story
Talea by Antonio Guida sits inside the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Hotel on West Corniche Road in Al Ras Al Akhdar, Abu Dhabi. The Italian kitchen holds one Michelin star for high quality cooking, awarded in 2026. The menu follows "Cucina di Famiglia," family-style Italian cooking built on classic dishes that households across Italy know well.
Antonio Guida trained at Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe and Asia, including Pierre Gagnaire in Paris, Enoteca Pinchiorri and Don Alfonso in Florence, and La Terrazza at Hotel Eden in Rome. The kitchen is led by his protégé Luigi Stinga, who received the inaugural Michelin Guide Abu Dhabi Young Chef Award. Guida reworks traditional Italian home recipes with techniques from Milanese classics.
Ravioli, burrata, and ossobuco, a veal shank braised in meat sauce, are among the dishes the restaurant highlights. Vitello tonnato, chilled veal under a tuna and caper sauce, appears as a summer dish. The kitchen also lists a signature truffle bruschetta. Ingredients are seasonal and chosen for authenticity, and the team makes each dish fresh.
The room is described as elegant yet casual, with air conditioning and outdoor seating. The wine list is noted for its range, and the restaurant also offers cocktail, dessert, and kids' menus. The Smart Green Guide awarded it three radishes in 2026. Wheelchair access is available.
