The story
Via Emilia in Bangkok serves Emilian Italian food at 1040 Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra 17, Lane 5, Thung Maha Mek, Sathon, and holds a Michelin Recommended listing for 2026. The restaurant also carries one Gambero Rosso fork from 2025.
The restaurant takes its name from the Via Aemilia, the Roman road that crosses Emilia-Romagna. The kitchen uses Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma and balsamic vinegar from Modena. Founder Andrea Bernardi opened the restaurant to bring that regional repertoire to Thailand. Pasta is made by hand, sauces simmer slowly, and the wood-fired pizza dough ferments for 72 hours.
The Cotoletta alla Petroniana is a breaded veal cutlet topped with 24-month Prosciutto di Parma and melted Parmigiano Reggiano. It comes with salad and mashed potato. Tagliolini al Tartufo is homemade egg noodles in a butter and truffle sauce, and the kitchen notes that the truffle used is seasonal. The Lasagna Bolognese layers spinach pasta with Bolognese and béchamel, and the Tortellini Artusiani are served in a Parmigiano cream sauce.
The room suits romantic dinners, relaxed meals with family and friends, and private parties. Guests can sit at the counter or outdoors. The wine list is built around pairings with the food, so the Italian wine selection works as a companion to the menu.
