The story
La Scarpetta, at Via Veglia 11 in St. Moritz, is an Italian contemporary restaurant that earned a 2026 Michelin Bib Gourmand for good quality, good value cooking. The room sits in the middle of the village and has been the restaurant's home since December 2018.
The menu leans on antipasti to share and pasta made fresh each day. Gault&Millau scored the kitchen 13.5 in 2026, singling out a grilled octopus with sunny salsa, guanciale chips and crispy polenta, a dish with southern aromas that nods to the cooking of the Marche region. The Italian kitchen here is generous and unfussy, built for passing plates across the table.
The restaurant takes its name from the Italian phrase "fare la scarpetta", the last bite of bread used to wipe up the sauce from the plate. The space was once a shoemaker's workshop. The wine list has a strong Piedmont thread and holds around 400 bottles, from familiar labels to small producers.
