The story
Corso, at Brühlgasse 37 in Sankt Gallen, is an Alpine restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 2026. The kitchen builds its menus around regional produce, and the Alpine Swiss cooking is served in a modern room.
Markus Schenk, who grew up in South Tyrol, has cooked in St. Gallen since 2016. The kitchen cooks seasonally and uses the whole animal, with potatoes from Biohof Las Sorts in the Albula valley and fish from Lake Constance.
Gault&Millau 16 singles out a buckwheat tartlet filled with melted Vacherin Mont-d'Or, and spaghetti made from smoked chestnuts with crayfish. The Wagyu flat iron from Sevelen is cooked pink and paired with truffle and celeriac. The meal ends with a compact white chocolate millefeuille with plums.
