The story
Naturaj, at Torggatan 1 in Sundsvall, is a New Nordic restaurant with Asian and Spanish influences, and the White Guide gave it Very fine level in 2026. The evening runs as a seven-course tasting menu centred on one open kitchen.
The kitchen sits inside the dining room, and most guests sit around the concrete bar that surrounds it. The menu follows the season and can change from one day to the next, drawing on nature and the surroundings. A dinner takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and the tasting menu costs 1,150 SEK.
The room seats about 40 and is set in grey tones, with stone, wood and leather. It feels elegant without being showy. Drink pairings are priced at 750 SEK, or 550 SEK for the alcohol-free version, and the wine selection leans toward natural wines.

It is clear that many gathered around the solid concrete kitchen bar surrounding the open kitchen have been here before—and plan to return. Yet this is no neighborhood bistro. Despite its regulars, the ambiance is elegant, defined by sober gray tones, stone, wood, and leather. In summer, the menu leans heavily Spanish, while at other times, guests are served a rotating seven-course meal alongside a thoughtfully curated wine pairing featuring numerous natural wines.
