The story
At Odengatan 94, 113 22 Stockholm, Minh Mat runs a Vietnamese kitchen that the White Guide rated Very fine level in 2026. The restaurant also appears in Michelin's 2026 selection as Recomended, and it draws on Vietnamese and Thai cooking with a focus on Asian ingredients.
Minh Mat is run by Minh Du Alneng, a prize-winning cookbook author who grew up in central Vietnam. Victor Alneng, a sommelier with a background in social anthropology and years of research in Vietnam, leads the wine side. The à la carte menu offers dishes in several sizes and moves beyond the noodle bowls most people associate with Vietnamese food. Spices arrive directly from minority villages in northwest Vietnam, and Thái, Mường and H'mông dishes appear on the menu regularly.
The White Guide describes the dining room as intimate and eclectic, with colorful walls and cheerful music over steady conversation. Plastic lizards and other playful details catch the eye on the walls. Produce comes from Swedish farms, and the drinks list pairs good beer with natural wines.
