The story
La Farola is a contemporary restaurant in Segorbe, at Agustín Sebastián 4 in Altura, and it holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026, the guide's mark for good quality, good value cooking.
The house describes its food as cocina de mercado, made with passion from the heart of the Alto Palancia. The midweek lunch menu costs 35 € without drinks and runs Wednesday to Friday. Starters come to the whole table, among them a cannoli filled with curry and duck and aubergine cooked over the flame with foie cremoso and miso.
Main courses change with the menu. Recent choices include arroz meloso with duck, mushrooms and pumpkin (minimum two portions), corvina pan-fried with a squid ink sauce and leeks, and a pastela of suckling lamb with yogurt. Bread is baked in house with oil. The restaurant also sells its own Essentia Oleum olive oil, a 50 cl bottle for 15 €.
From Tuesday to Friday at midday, a 40 € menu called #Cocina4manos is served as a series of small savoury courses and sweet endings. An oyster arrives with lemon granita and bloody mary, and a gyoza is filled with trinxat made from the village longaniza. A stew of cuttlefish, prawn and pedrosillo chickpeas leads into a strawberry tartare with lemon cream.
