The story
Divinum is a contemporary Catalan restaurant at Albereda 7 in Girona, awarded one Michelin Star in 2026 for high quality cooking.
Joan and Laura started with a low-ceilinged room of wine boxes and bottles, where guests drank wine with good cheese. Other dishes followed, and the name Divinum stuck. The dining room now sits inside the city's Casino. A book titled ¿Dónde comen los grandes cocineros? quotes Joan Roca naming it his restaurant of choice for eating in Girona.
The Essencia menu is served to the whole table at 160 €. It moves from a langoustine fritter and river trout with dill to pheasant ravioli, hake with algae and parsnip, and crisp suckling pig. A wine pairing costs 90 € and a cheese trolley 30 €. The Petit menu has nine preparations at 105 € and runs on weekday lunchtimes. The carta changes with the season and has included wild boar cannelloni, blue lobster with parmentier, and a classic steak tartare prepared at the table.
The house has won recognition for its steak tartare and its chocolate dessert (both 2022 awards). The Catalan Sommelier Association named its dining room service the best in 2024. Desserts such as pistachio coulant and fig-leaf flan come with a long list of sweet wines by the glass, from Empordà bottlings to Tokaji, Sauternes and Madeira.
