The story
La Boscana is a Catalan restaurant at Carretera Bell-lloc d'Urgell, 25142, in Bellvís, Spain, and it holds two Michelin stars (2026) for excellent cooking. The kitchen takes its direction from the land around it, so the fruit and produce of each season set what appears on the plate.
Joel Castanyé leads the kitchen, working with the products and producers of Lleida. The team calls its approach cuina situada, cooking rooted in one place. Tradition and avant-garde technique sit side by side, and fruit runs through many of the dishes.
The restaurant offers two paths. El Petit Menú, served from Wednesday to Friday, is a tasting of local produce and house classics. The seasonal tasting menu changes with the year, under the names Primavera en Flor, Estiu en Collita, Tardor en Color and Hivern en Repòs. Spring courses have included asparagus with a sheep milk lactic element and a fig with king crab and prawn.
The estate covers 60,000 square metres, but the dining room seats only eight tables, which keeps the meal quiet and close. The restaurant also holds four radishes in the We're Smart Green Guide for 2026, recognising its sustainability work.
