The story
Hisop is a contemporary Catalan restaurant at Passatge de Marimon 9 in Barcelona, awarded one Michelin Star in 2026 for high quality cooking. It also holds one Radish from the We're Smart Green Guide (2026).
The team describes itself plainly: few people, a small kitchen, a small restaurant in a small passage. The aim is Catalan cooking that keeps local products and the flavors of classic dishes, then looks at them from new angles. Contrast and subtlety matter more here than spectacle, and new elements are added to familiar constructions to make them more singular.
The menú de tast runs through nine steps and costs 100€, or 135€ with wine pairing. It opens with tongue, capers and rosemary, followed by salt cod brandada with sardine and verjus. White asparagus arrives with morels and trout roe. Grilled càntera comes with asparagus and tea, and suckling lamb blanquette with oysters. Cheese leads into desserts such as rhubarb with burrata and jalapeño.
The à la carte follows the same logic, split into starters, fish, meat and sweets. Palamós prawns with béarnaise sit beside scorpion fish pressed and served with potatoes. Grilled pigeon and rabbit brioche with meatball and truffle represent the meat side. For dessert, whisky with morels and liquorice offers a less expected finish.
