The story
Solbam, at 2F, 231 Hakdong-ro in Seoul's Gangnam-gu, is a Korean kitchen that earned one Michelin star in 2026. Chef-owner Taejun Eom cooks what the restaurant calls Neo-Classic Korean cuisine, a reworking of long-standing Korean dishes seen through a fresh look at the country's nature and ingredients.
The restaurant describes itself as lying beneath moonlit pine trees, the hometown of Chef Taejun Eom. That connection to place runs through the menu, which draws on Korean produce and seasonal change. The wine programme also received a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2025.
The tasting menu is titled Solbam's Drawing Room. Dishes pair ingredients closely, such as horse mackerel with pork belly and chicken liver, or lobster with cauliflower and mussel. Hanwoo beef comes with baek-hwa-go mushroom and red Swiss chard, and desserts include peaches with lemon verbena. A beverage pairing and a seasonal tea are available alongside the courses.
