The story
Evett, at 10-5 Dosan-daero 45-gil in Seoul, is a Korean fine dining restaurant that holds two Michelin stars (2026) for excellent cooking. Owner chef Joseph Lidgerwood opened it in 2019 to reinterpret Korean ingredients and traditional dishes through a tasting menu.
Lidgerwood was born in Australia and trained at The French Laundry in Napa and The Ledbury in London. Pop-up projects in New York, Hong Kong and Yangon shaped the way he approaches Korean produce. Head chef Alexander Økland, a Norwegian cook who worked at The Fat Duck, runs the kitchen day to day.
Every guest receives the same single tasting menu, built from Korean seasonal ingredients that change as the year turns. Lunch is an eight-course menu, and dinner runs to twelve courses. Diners can add a Korean alcohol pairing, a wine pairing or a non-alcohol pairing. The wine list has earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence (2023).
Evett relocated and expanded in August 2023 to a site near Dosan Park in Apgujeong, giving the Korean kitchen more space to explore local ingredients. A private dining room is available for private parties.
