The story
Gostilna Repovž, at Šentjanž 14 in Šentjanž (8297), is a European restaurant in Radeče built around its own farm, and Gault&Millau awarded it 17 points in 2026. The inn has operated for roughly 300 years, and the kitchen still cooks from the land around it.
The Repovž family has run the inn for generations, and the sixth generation now works the stoves. Gardens, orchards and an organic farm supply much of what reaches the plate. An on-site eco-lab tests growing methods for vegetables, fruit, grain and wine. Local suppliers cover whatever the estate cannot grow.
Thin slices of Krškopolje pork come with trout sauce, pickled wild garlic buds and hazelnuts. Smoked trout is served with hollandaise and beans. In colder months the kitchen grills duck breast, and seasonal pig-slaughter specialties, crispy pork cutlets and lamb in three preparations appear on traditional Slovenian menus. Warm house bread arrives at the table from the oven.
Tasting menus run from four to ten courses, priced at 55, 69 and 110 euros per guest, with wine pairings from 28 to 49 euros. A sommelier selects wines course by course, and non-alcoholic pairings are offered as well. Weekend breakfast costs 26 euros per person and includes local cured meats, cheeses and homemade preserves. Renovated guest rooms let you stay the night after dinner.
